I'm currently in the market for a commercial feed reader/news aggregator. I currently use Sharpreader (www.sharpreader.net) and have been fairly happy with it, but it has a few issues and lacks some important features for me.
The two commercial products I'm most interested in are Newsgator (www.newsgator.com) and FeedDemon (www.bradsoft.com). Both have features I want and both are about the same price. I work at several machines in any given day and would like the ability to synchronize my feeds across the different machines. As of now, I end up reading the same post multiple times because I have installed Sharpreader on two machines and have both readers getting the same feeds. With this configuration, I also have to add a new feed to multiple locations. Newsgator provides this functionality through a Web-based service, which costs a monthly fee. FeedDemon can synchronize the feeds, but I must manually copy the file from one location and get it to the next location, or configure some method to do this manually. I'd like to hear comments from other people who have tried this with either of these products or with another product. I realize that there are free Web services that I can use, but I would like to be able to use a desktop app. Am I the only one with this problem?
