My wife and I went to see Spider-Man 2 last week. All in all, I'd say that it was a good movie. But, this isn't a post about the movie; this is a post about the experience. These are my thoughts on that:

* If you are so important that you cannot sit through a 2 hour movie without accepting phone calls, may I suggest that you 1) don't go see the movie, or 2) leave the theater to accept the call. I did not pay $8 to hear your phone conversation.

* I appreciate your thoughts on what's happening in the movie. I'd appreciate them more if you'd keep them to yourself while the movie's playing.

* If you feel the urge to begin a wrestling match with your friend, don't.

I don't understand what's going on at the movies lately. For the past several years (yes, YEARS), my wife and I haven't been able to go see a movie without some idiot causing some kind of distraction. It's come to the point that my wife and I are pretty much not going to go see a movie in the theater any more. It's that bad. People seem to be getting worse as far as theater etiquette goes. We've talked to a few friends about this and have found out that they have reached the same conclusion and will not go see a movie in the theater. I'm surprised that the theaters aren't trying to do more to combat this trend; the few seconds of rules before the movie don't seem to be doing much good.
